Add a GeoJSON Point
Add a GeoJSON source with map.addSource(), then draw it with a circle layer. The same pattern scales to large feature collections loaded from a URL.
import { MaptoolkitLogoControl } from 'https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/npm/@maptoolkit/maplibre-gl-logo/+esm';
const map = new maplibregl.Map({ container: 'map', attributionControl: { customAttribution: '' }, style: 'https://styles.maptoolkit.org/summer.json', center: [-79.3832, 43.6532], zoom: 12 }); // Toronto
map.on('load', function () {
map.addSource('point', { type: 'geojson', data: { type: 'Feature', properties: {}, geometry: { type: 'Point', coordinates: [-79.3832, 43.6532] } } });
map.addLayer({ id: 'point', type: 'circle', source: 'point', paint: { 'circle-radius': 12, 'circle-color': '#e8551a', 'circle-stroke-width': 2, 'circle-stroke-color': '#fff' } });
});
map.addControl(new MaptoolkitLogoControl());<!DOCTYPE html>
